CRISPY FRIED ONION RINGS 1 c. freshly opened beer 1 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. salt (optional) 1 tsp. sugar (optional) 1/2 tsp. allspice (optional) 3 or 4 medium onions, peeled and sliced Make a batter of beer and flour. Add spices if you're using them. Dip the onion rings in batter until well coated. Fry in hot oil until browned lightly and they float. Drain on paper toweling.
