CARAMEL POPCORN

2/3 c. Orville Redenbacher's
popcorn
4 Tbsp. oil
1 c. margarine
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. Karo light syrup
1 tsp. salt
2 c. dry roasted peanuts
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Pop 2/3 cup of popcorn with 4 tablespoons of oil.
Spread popcorn on two cookie sheets with sides. Sprinkle nuts
over popcorn. In large pan boil 1 cup margarine, 2 cups brown
sugar, 1/2 cup Karo syrup and 1 teaspoon salt for 3 minutes
until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; add and mix 1/2
teaspoon baking soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour mixture over
popcorn and nuts, coating well. Place cookie sheets in 250 degrees
oven for 1 hour , stirring every 15 minutes. When done, spread
popcorn onto flat surface, breaking popcorn apart so not to
stick. Let cool and store in tight lid canister.
