HONEYCOMB 1 c. sugar 1 c. dark corn syrup 1 Tbsp. vinegar 1 Tbsp. soda Combine sugar, syrup and vinegar in heavy saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Continue to cook, without stirring, to 300 degrees on candy thermometer (or until a little of mixture dropped in cold water becomes brit- tle). Remove from heat and quickly stir in soda. Pour into lightly buttered 9-inch square pan. Don't spread, as candy will spread itself. Cool and break into pieces. May dip candy pieces in melted chocolate chips if desired.
