BROWNIES Brownies: 5 oz. unsweetened chocolate 3/4 c. margarine 1 Tbsp. vanilla 2 1/4 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 1/3 c. flour 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts Frosting: 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa 1/4 c. margarine, softened 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla whole pecans or walnuts if desired Brownies: Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan. In small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and 3/4 cup margarine, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in 1 tablespoon vanilla and set aside. In large bowl, beat sugar and 4 eggs for about 7 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Fold chocolate, flour and nuts into egg mixture until blended. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes. Cool. Makes 36 brownies. Frosting: In small bowl, blend all frosting ingredients until smooth. Spread over brownies. Refrigerate for 1 hour; cut into bars. Garnish each bar with whole pecan. Store in refrigerator.
