FILLED GREEK COOKIES 1 c. butter 1 1/2 c. oil (Mazola) 1 c. sugar 1 c. Crisco 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. baking powder 1 c. margarine 1 c. pineapple juice flour Syrup: 1 c. water 1 c. sugar 1 c. honey cinnamon stick apple and orange peels Mix shortenings, liquids like oil; add sugar, juice and eggs. Beat well by hand. Add baking powder and as much flour as necessary until soft to form shapes. Fill with walnuts, sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake at 375 degrees. When cool, soak in hot syrup. Syrup: Bring to boil the ingredients and boil for 3 to 4 hours until thickened. Use on filled Greek cookies or other Greek cakes and pastries.
