FRUIT CAKE 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. mace 1 1/2 c. SunMaid raisins 1 c. dates, chopped 1 c. fruit cake mix 1/2 c. pecans, chopped 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped 1 c. sugar 1 c. water 2 tsp. lemon juice 1/2 c. butter or margarine 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cloves, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and mace together. In another bowl, mix raisin, dates, fruit cake mix, pecans, walnuts, sugar, water, lemon juice, butter or margarine, vanilla and eggs, adding eggs, 1 at a time. Add dry ingredients to fruit mix- ture; put into a well greased tube cake pan, bottom-lined with wax paper. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Invert on rack to cool, then remove pan. Yield: 3 pound, 6 ounce cake.
