TRES LECHES CAKE (3 Milks Cake) Cake: 6 eggs, separated 2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. milk 2 tsp. vanilla Sauce: 1 (13 oz.) can Pet milk 1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand milk 1 (225 grams) can Nestle media cream* 3 eggs (save whites) Meringue: 3 egg whites 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 6 Tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Beat egg whites until peaks form. Add sugar gradually. Add yolks; beat 3 minutes. Combine flour and baking powder; add to egg mixture alternately with milk. Pour into well buttered 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Pour sauce ingredients into blender; whip. Punch holes in cake with toothpick; pour sauce over cake. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until peaks form. Spread on cake top; bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. *Can be found in the Mexican section of store.
