BREAD PUDDING 2 c. dry bread 4 c. milk, scalded 1 Tbsp. butter 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. sugar 4 slightly beaten eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. nutmeg Add butter, salt and sugar to the scalded milk. Pour slowly over eggs, stirring constantly. Add vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased baking dish over the bread cubes. Sprinkle nutmeg over the top. Bake in pan of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes. Vanilla Sauce: 1 1/2 c. can pudding 1/2 c. milk Mix milk with canned pudding. Heat gently, stirring constantly, until sauce is smooth and warm. Serve warm over bread pudding.
