BAKED APPLE SURPRISE 4 large baking apples (not MacIntosh) 1/3 c. Grape-nuts 1/3 c. brown sugar 2 Tbsp. soft butter 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Wash and core apples. Make a cut through the peel around each apple, about 1 inch from top. Place in baking dish. Mix Grape-Nuts, sugar, butter and cinnamon. Fill apples with mixture. Pour water into pan, just to cover bottom. Bake, uncovered, in hot 400 degrees oven 50 to 60 minutes or until apples are soft; baste occasionally with syrup in pan. Cool; serve with cream. Makes 4 servings.
