FINNISH BREAD 2 c. milk 1/2 c. butter 4 eggs 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 pkg. dry yeast 3/4 tsp. ground cardamon seed (may omit) flour Soak yeast in bowl with 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Scald milk and butter. Beat eggs, sugar and salt. Put yeast in milk and egg mixture; knead flour in until hands don't stick. Cover bowl and let rise until doubled. Knead a few minutes and braid into 4 loaves (or roll into small rolls, about 48). Place on greased cookie sheets. Cover and let rise again. Brush tops with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
