BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 2 c. sifted flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 5 Tbsp. shortening 1 c. buttermilk Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until as fine as meal. Add milk all at once and stir until mixture rounds up in a ball. Knead until smooth and elastic. Roll and cut. Bake in hot oven at 450 degrees until done.
