DROP DONUTS 1 2/3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla frying fat (hot) 1/3 c. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1 egg, lightly beaten 2 Tbsp. melted margarine or shortening powdered sugar Sift together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and nutmeg. Combine egg and milk; blend thoroughly. Gradually add to dry mixture, stirring constantly. Add shortening and vanilla. Beat until smooth and well blended. Drop dough from teaspoon which has been dipped in hot fat to prevent dough from sticking to spoon. Fry and drain. Place donuts into small brown bag. Add enough powdered sugar to cover. Shake donuts.
