GRANDMA'S GREEN APPLE PIE Crust: 3 c. flour 1 c. Crisco shortening 1/2 tsp. salt 7 Tbsp. ice water Filling: 4 c. sliced green or tart apples 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 Tbsp. butter Place flour, shortening and salt in large bowl. Using electric mixer, on low speed only, combine until mixture looks like cornmeal. Add ice water all at once and mix until ball forms. Roll out 1/2 mixture for 9-inch pie shell. Combine apples, sugar and cinnamon; spread into pie shell. Dot with butter. Roll remaining dough, adjust top and seal. Sprinkle top with water. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes or until golden brown. This pie won first place in Adrian Orchard's Apple Pie Contest at the 1987 Marion County Fair.
