HARVEST BREAD 3 c. sugar 3/4 c. shortening 4 eggs 3 1/2 c. plain flour 1 c. chopped nuts 1 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. mashed sweet potatoes 1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice, thawed 2 tsp. soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. cloves Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add potatoes and orange juice. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Pour into 4 pound coffee cans, greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool thoroughly before removing from cans. May be frozen in cans.
