Stalk will break where tender part of stalk starts. Discard tough part of stalk. Place spears in a flat 1-quart casserole. Add water. Cover. Microwave at Full power (High) for 12 minutes or until tender, rearranging spears once. Let stand, covered, 2 minutes. Drain.
