COUNTRY FRIED TURNIPS 2 Tbsp. butter 1 lb. turnip, peeled and cut into slices 3/4 c. chicken or beef broth 1 Tbsp. lemon juice Melt butter in a large skillet, add turnips and cook over low heat until turnips start to soften. Add stock, cover and simmer until turnips are tender. Then remove lid and let some of the liquid cook down to leave a sauce. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
