BUTTERY MASHED RUTABAGA 1 medium rutabaga, peeled, sliced 1/4-inch thick, then diced 1 large potato, peeled and diced as rutabaga 2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 Tbsp. minced onion 3 Tbsp. butter Place diced rutabaga and potato in saucepan. Cover with water. Add salt and cook until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain. Add onion, sugar and butter. Mash until smooth and fluffy.
