SAUERBRATEN (The Easy Way) 1 1/2 lb. round steak 1 Tbsp. oil 1 pkg. brown gravy mix 2 c. water 2 Tbsp. diced onion 2 Tbsp. brown sugar 2 Tbsp. vinegar 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 1/2 tsp. salt pepper Cut steak into strips or cubes; brown in oil and drain fat. Add water and gravy mix. Bring to a boil. Add other ingredients. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasion- ally and checking to make sure it isn't getting too thick, add water (a little) if it is. Cook 8 ounces of noodles or 2 cups of cooked rice to toss together with Sauerbraten.
