VINEGAR DUMPLINGS (Sweet And Sour) 4 c. water 3/4 c. vinegar 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 cube margarine 1 tsp. vanilla Dumplings: 3 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. milk Mix water, vinegar, sugar, margarine and vanilla in pan. Bring to a boil (keep it boiling slowly while dropping dump- lings). Roll on lightly floured board. Knead dough a little stiffer than biscuit dough. Roll out thin. Cut in 1 or 1 1/2 inch squares or break dough off in small pieces and drop in vinegar mixture. Boil slowly 5 to 10 minutes. Stir a few times to keep from sticking. Serves 6 to 8.
