CREATE A CASSEROLE Choose one ingredient from each five groups to make a pleasing combination: Protein Food: mackerel or salmon (1 lb. can) 2 (7 oz.) cans tuna chicken, cooked or canned ham, cooked or canned luncheon meat any other canned meat Pasta, Etc: macaroni, noodles, spaghetti potatoes, sweet potatoes rice Topping: bread or cracker crumbs crushed cereal flakes crushed potato chips grated cheese fried onion rings Vegetables: mixed vegetables green beans, peas, corn carrots and broccoli Sauce: soup, condensed Cheddar cheese cream of celery, mushroom, potato, tomato, vegetable or chicken Place 1 1/2 to 2 cups cubed protein food in casserole or baking pan. Add 2 cups cooked or canned vegetables; drained. Add 2 cups cooked pasta, cubed potatoes or rice. Add 1 can condensed soup mixed with 1/2 cup liquid. Mix into casserole. Season to taste. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serves 6 to 8.
