GRANDMA'S BEAN SOUP

1 lb. navy beans
2 large banana peppers, sliced
1 large green pepper, diced
dash of crushed red pepper
salt and pepper to taste
2 large onions, diced
2 large grated carrots
1/2 lb. meat (bacon, ham or
sausage)
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms

Place beans in crock-pot. Fill with water. Add meat.
Cook all day. About 1 hour before serving, saute all other
ingredients in margarine or shortening, add to beans and simmer
until ready to serve. If bean soup is too thick, add more
water.
