ITALIAN LIQUEUR (Anisette) 2 c. sugar 1 vanilla bean, split 1 1/2 tsp. aniseed 1/2 tsp. banana extract 2 fifths vodka In a small saucepan, combine sugar, vanilla bean, aniseed and banana extract. Bring to a boil and continue boiling 5 minutes. Cool to room temperature. In large glass container, combine mixture with vodka. Cover tightly and store at least 2 weeks. Strain and bottle.
