CRICKET SANDWICHES

3 to 4 steaks (uncubed
sandwich steak works fine)
1 to 2 onions (white Bermudas)
1 to 2 green peppers, if
desired
3 to 4 French bread mini
loaves
1 lb. Swiss cheese
1/2 c. sliced mushrooms, if
desired

Cut steaks into strips 1/4-inch wide and 2 to 3 inches
in length. Throw these into a greased iron skillet or onto a
griddle. Cut the onions and green peppers into long strips
about 4 to 5 inches if possible. Add these and the mushrooms
to the skillet. While these are browning, stir occasionally to
keep from sticking to the pan. Meanwhile, place at least one
slice of Swiss cheese on one half of each bread loaf. When the
steaks and vegetables are sufficiently browned, place on
loaves. The cheese may be additionally melted by placing
entire sandwich in a microwave for no longer than 30 seconds.
